This is a Post about College Bound Reading

First of all, I would like to start this entry off with a shout out to Ms.Bevels.

How YOU doin'?

I heard from some “inside sources” that you’ve shown my blog to your class.

One, thank you for spreading the word about This is a Blog. I’ve noticed a slight bump in the viewers from yesterday, which I’m going to assume is a good thing. Two, I now have some competition to deal with.

Let the games begin. Mu ha ha ha ha…

Alright then.

Now that that is out of the way, onto the topic at hand. College bound reading.

The fans of Life of Pi really drew me into the book. I’ve heard quite a few good things about it from others and I thought I would check it out. I mean, for almost everything that is released, there will be people who hate it or love it.

Some more than others.

Also, the description was pretty convincing. Go ahead, take a look at the summaries for it. No really, I’ll wait right here for you to go and do that. You just take your time. Grab a cup of tea while you read or something. You know, the good stuff.

Done? Did you even really leave? Well, regardless of your choice, I’m going to summarize it again. Right here. Right now. Let’s do this thing.

So basically it’s about a boy stuck on a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena, and a freaking tiger. I think we all see where this is going.

That’s right, the tiger leaps for the zebra, but wait! In comes the hyena, teeth bared and claws ready, but the orangutan intercepts! Left and right, fangs and fists are flashing everywhere folks, this will be a fight to remember – waitaminute. This book isn’t about crazy awesome fights inside a tiny lifeboat…it’s about something deeper, something more meaningful. Something that will enlighten both the mind and soul. A message that will strike a chord within everyone that reads it, leaving a legacy behind even as the words on the pages fade away. -sniffs-

What.

So I'm guessing that's a no-go on the explosions then?

To be honest, though, I really can’t complain. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. All I did was swagger into class, slap that books title on a sheet of paper and call it a day.

Sorry fans of the book, but it’s true.

But fear not lovers of all that is well written and symbolic! I have a feeling in my gut that this will be a good book. Perhaps it won’t be exactly how I imagined it, but hey. It’ll be good in a different, non-explosive kind of way (although the occasional C-4 bomb wouldn’t hurt). I think it’ll be the kind of story that makes you sit there late at night, thinking about every little detail you might have missed. You know, kind of like when you have an outrageously catchy song stuck in your head and that’s all you can think about for the next three weeks.

NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN NYAN

Well, that’s going to be lodged in my brain for a while…

Marri, you’re not alone in the whole slap-a-book-down issue. I chose The Glass Castle that way, but it does not mean the book wont’t be good…….maybe.

    • I finished it yesterday.
It’s pretty dull and tedious to read at first, then it gets good and the last seven pages or so are like WHAT DID I JUST READ, IS THIS ALL REALLY HAPPENING? WHOAAAAA.
      So yup.

  10. It sounds like a really good book. I hope you like reading! Funny pictures haha
